Not every highway-facing property follows the same route. The responsible office and applicable process depend on the road, its operating authority, the type of project and the proposed work.

What is highway access permission?

It is authorisation for a proposed access connection where required by the road-owning authority. Utility crossings and right-of-way work are separate categories and may follow different permission processes.

Can a private property or real estate project need permission?

It may. A plot, building, township or commercial project proposing an access connection should check requirements with the relevant road authority before proceeding.

Is NHAI responsible for every road?

No. Jurisdiction varies by road and stretch. NHAI, MoRTH, another designated agency, a state PWD or a local road owner may be involved, depending on the facts.

Can you support a project outside Punjab?

Yes. You can start with a remote consultation from anywhere in India. When on-ground work is needed, we can arrange coordination through associates, subject to availability and project requirements.

What information should I share first?

Start with the state, location, highway or road number, project type and a site plan or land record if available. Do not send credentials, one-time codes or unnecessary sensitive documents.

What about utility crossings or work within the right of way?

Requirements differ for crossings, longitudinal work and other proposals. The road authority, nature of the utility and applicable official guidance determine the relevant process.

How long will approval take?

There is no single reliable timeline. Preparation, authority scrutiny, inspections, queries and project complexity can all affect the duration.

What will it cost?

Official fees and professional charges depend on the road, project and scope. We will discuss our proposed scope and fee after reviewing your details; applicable authority charges are separate.

Can approval be guaranteed?

No. The competent authority determines the outcome. Our role is to help you understand the process, prepare information and coordinate the agreed work.

Do I need to share my portal password or OTP?

No. Use your own authorised applicant account and follow the portal’s current instructions. Never share passwords or one-time codes.
